Celebrate the night during and after the festival Op de Ring

16 April 2025

Amsterdam is celebrating its birthday — and of course, the city’s legendary nightlife is joining the party during the Op de Ring festival! From creative ravers to unforgettable club nights: the night is part of the soul of our city. That’s why Night Mayor Freek Wallagh and his team are going all out. In collaboration with Amsterdam 750, the Op de Ring festival and over 25 nightlife venues, this will be a celebration to remember.

A Festive Parade on the Ring

During the Op de Ring festival on Saturday 21 June, a vibrant parade will roll across part of the A10 near Rembrandtpark. This special procession — organised by Stichting Nachtburgemeester together with various nightlife organisations — will showcase the creativity and colour of Amsterdam’s night scene. Think rave trucks, live music, performances, theatre, and surprises along the way. A moving piece of art — with basslines.

Afterparty in More Than 25 Clubs

Festival over? The night is just getting started. Night Mayor Freek Wallagh knows people won’t want to head home right away after Op de Ring.
“Knowing Amsterdammers, many will want to keep going. And they can — in one of the participating clubs or bars,” he says.

Over 25 clubs and nightlife spots across the city will open their doors that evening with a special Amsterdam 750 programme. Discover new talents, dance to legendary MCs, and maybe even raise a toast with a brand-new Amsterdam shot. What ties all these places together? A love for the city, for the night, and for what connects us.

“Amsterdam’s birthday wouldn’t be complete without an ode to its night creatures, its parade stars and its club spirits. We want to celebrate the night like only Amsterdam can: free, diverse, and full of energy. Mokum is more than a city — it’s a feeling of freedom and connection. And that feeling comes alive at night.”
