On June 21 – the longest day of the year – twenty couples will say ‘I do’ during the Op de Ring festival. Today, the couples who were selected by the notary received their confirmation. In the coming weeks, they will meet with Amsterdam’s Municipal Marriage Bureau and the event producer to discuss all the details involved in a wedding on the Ring.

Getting married on the Ring
Getting married is one of the highlights of the Op de Ring festival. For this special day, a section of the highway will be officially designated as a wedding venue. In this public space, twenty weddings will take place in succession, set in a festive atmosphere complete with a red carpet, space for family and guests, music of the couple’s choice, photo and cake moments, and a full-fledged ceremony with an officiant and witnesses.
Nearly four hundred couples signed up to get married On the Ring. Due to the high demand, a notary conducted a lottery. The selected couples are residents of Amsterdam or Weesp. The weddings will be officiated by registrars from the Municipality of Amsterdam.
