Update Zone East: Walking Only

17 June 2025

Due to the high level of interest in Festival Op de Ring, a change has been made to the setup of Zone East.
On 21 June, from 16:00 to 20:00, the entire Zone East will be open to pedestrians only. The cycling activity (Tring Tring Op de Ring) has been cancelled. This change allows more people the chance to walk a section of the car-free A10 Ring Road.

Please note: there is no official programming in this part of the Ring.
A large turnout is expected, so we strongly advise you to check the crowd levels before you head out!

How to get to Zone East

There are two entrances:

  • via S109A, near RAI/Europaboulevard
  • and via S113, near Watergraafsmeer/Middenweg.

We recommend coming by bike or on foot. Public transport will be very busy. Extra bicycle parking will be available near both entrances. A waiting area will also be set up at the entrance – please be aware that you may have to wait in line for up to an hour.

Practical info

  • The distance between S109 and S113 is 5 kilometers.
  • There are two walking directions, so you can walk part of the route and turn back whenever you like.
  • Kids’ bikes and strollers are welcome.
  • Mobility aids like wheelchairs, mobility scooters and hand bikes are also allowed.
  • The Ring’s asphalt is rough and not suitable for rollerblades, scooters, or skateboards – best to leave those at home.
  • There are no seating or picnic areas on the route.
  • No food or drinks are sold on-site, but there are water refill stations near the toilets.

Be prepared!

  • Check the crowd levels before you leave.
  • Bring enough water and wear sunscreen.
  • Put on sturdy shoes, a hat or cap, and light protective clothing – the asphalt can get hot.
  • You’re welcome to bring your own snacks or drinks, but keep it in a small backpack. Bags may be checked at the entrance. No strong alcohol allowed.
